Quick Selection (Decide in 30 Seconds)

1For a "composed and professional" look: navy / forest green + generous white space

The texture naturally adds depth. With sufficiently bold type and generous white space, the whole card will look timeless.

2To be instantly memorable: apply hot foil or embossing to the logo / name

Conqueror laid paper already has a three-dimensional feel. Applying a finish only to the focal point gives the best value and impact.

3For a "vintage brand" look: coffee / brown / burgundy + a simple motif

You do not need many colours; the paper texture already creates a mid-century feel. It is particularly suitable for handmade businesses, food and drink, and brand owners.

Paper Colour Options
Two warm shades
Off-white looks cleaner and more professional; cream feels warmer and more vintage. Both pair beautifully with dark lettering and metallic finishes. Off-white: corporate / consultancy | Cream: food and drink / handmade / vintage brands.
Quantity
From 100 cards
Common quantities: 100 / 200 / 300 / 500 / 1,000 cards, making it easy to test the paper colour with a small run before reprinting. Start-ups / personal brands: 100–300 | Teams: 500+.

Tip: the laid texture is already part of the design—the simpler the design, the more the paper character stands out; more white space gives a more premium result.

Tactile Highlights (How to Look Premium Without Being Flashy)

✅ Texture Creates Depth

The raised horizontal laid texture adds dimension. Even a single logo and two lines of text will not look "flat" or "thin".

✅ Dark Colours + High Contrast Look Especially Striking

Navy, forest green, brown and burgundy all work beautifully. Good contrast makes the laid texture clearer and more timeless.

✅ Highly Compatible with Finishes (A Little Goes a Long Way)

Gold foil / silver foil / debossing all pair well with Conqueror laid paper. For the best value, apply the finish only to a focal point (logo / name / job title).

Finishing Touches (A Little Goes a Long Way)

Special Print Finishes (Debossing / Embossing / Raised Gloss Lettering)

Want a tactile feature people remember? Choose just one focal area: the logo / surname / brand emblem gives the most reliable and polished result.

Special print finishes: coloured debossing, coloured embossing and raised gloss lettering
  • Coloured debossing: Retains the printed colour while adding texture; suitable for borders / geometric motifs / emblems.
  • Coloured embossing: Creates more pronounced relief and works best on a logo / initial / badge.
  • Raised gloss lettering: A subtle, finely raised finish that is understated yet tactile; suitable for headings / logos.

Advice: finishing areas look best when slightly larger and cleaner; overly fine / dense details can affect formation and clarity.

Foil Stamping Examples (The Easiest Way to Create a Premium Focal Point)

Reflective metallic foil adds a tactile, dimensional quality. Applying it only to the logo / name is usually enough to create a strong presence.

Foil stamping options: gold, silver, black-gold, white-gold, blue, rose-gold or antique-gold foil
  • Safest choices: Gold foil / silver foil | Choose black-gold foil for a more understated look.
  • Placement advice: Apply it to one focal point only (logo or name), with the remaining content printed normally, for the most polished result.
  • Note: Very small type / thin lines can cause foil to stick and look untidy; use slightly larger details for more reliable results.

If you are unsure which finish to use, WhatsApp us with your industry and desired feel. We will recommend the most reliable option.

Design / Finishing Advice (The Easiest Way to Achieve a Composed, Premium Look)
✅ Layout Advice
  • Use a bolder font weight (to prevent the texture from "swallowing" it)
  • Fewer elements look better: a logo + name + contact details are enough
  • Leave enough white space (white space amplifies the premium feel)
✅ Colour Strategy
  • Dark colours bring out the laid texture (navy / forest green / brown / burgundy)
  • Avoid large full-bleed areas (they will conceal the paper texture)
  • For a more premium result, use just one or two main colours
✅ Choosing a Finish (Optional)
  • Gold foil / silver foil: apply to the logo or name (the most eye-catching option)
  • Debossing / embossing: understated yet timeless (more memorable to the touch)
  • A more focused finish looks better: do less, but place the focal point precisely
Artwork Setup (The Most Common Name Card Trouble Spots: Size + Safe Area)
1
Three size boundaries (must follow): Bleed 96×60mm | Trim 90×54mm | Safe 84×48mm.
2
Start with our template for the most reliable result: We provide AI / PSD / PDF templates; using a template is the fastest way to lay out artwork and minimises alignment issues.
3
Colour mode: Create your artwork in CMYK (to avoid colour shifts).
4
Image clarity: All images must be clear when viewed at 100%, with a minimum requirement of 300dpi+.
5
Convert text to outlines + file formats: Convert text to outlines and embed images; we accept PDF / AI / PSD. Artwork with special finishes generally must be supplied as AI.
Finishing Mask Artwork Specifications (Essential for Hot Foil / Spot UV / Debossing)
Item Recommended Approach Common Errors
Provide a "Separate Finishing Layer"
Spot Layer
Create a separate "finishing mask artwork" layer using K100% single-colour vector graphics; use one layer for each finish (separate Foil / UV / Emboss layers). Treating the finish as a CMYK design to be printed, or merging it into the background artwork, can easily cause registration / film-output errors.
Fine Type / Thin-Line Limits
Avoid overly fine details
Recommended: finishing text ≥ 8pt; lines ≥ 0.6pt (0.2mm); spacing between two finishing areas ≥ 0.7mm. Overly thin lines, small type or complex details can result in broken lines / foil sticking / an unsatisfactory finish.
Registration Tolerance
Within the normal range
A registration variance of approximately 2–3mm for spot UV and 0.5–1mm for hot foil is normal. Allowing space in the design gives a more reliable result. Overlaying foil content exactly on the printed content can make any registration variance look like misalignment.
Clearance
Keep away from the trim line
Keep finishing areas away from the trim line / die-cut area to reduce the risk of peeling from cutting pressure. If a finish runs right to the edge, even a slight cutting variance can cause missing corners or foil loss.

For the best result: use slightly less, make it slightly larger and keep it slightly cleaner. The most common premium approach is gold foil on the logo / name + normal printing for the remaining content: simple, yet highly memorable.

(If you do not have finished artwork, send us your logo / text details / style reference. We can lay it out within the safe area before printing.)

FAQ
Q: How do I choose between off-white and cream?
Off-white looks cleaner and more corporate; cream feels warmer and more vintage. Choose off-white for a "composed, professional" look, or cream for a "vintage brand" feel.
Q: Why is the Safe Area as small as 84×48mm?
Name-card cutting can have slight tolerances. Keeping important text / logos within the safe area prevents them from being trimmed even if there is a small shift.
Q: Is this paper suitable for hot foil / debossing?
Yes. Conqueror laid paper already has texture and thickness, so a finished focal point appears more dimensional and memorable. Applying it only to the logo / name / job title is enough for an attractive result.
Q: How should I supply finishing mask artwork for hot foil / spot UV?
Supply a separate finishing layer (Spot Layer) using K100% single-colour vectors, with a separate layer for each finish (Foil / UV / Emboss). Finishing text should be ≥8pt and lines ≥0.6pt (0.2mm); keep them away from the trim line for a better result.
Q: I have print-ready artwork. What should I check before ordering?
Most importantly, follow the template dimensions (Bleed / Trim / Safe), use CMYK, supply images at 300dpi+ and convert text to outlines. If your design uses hot foil / debossing or another finish, layered AI artwork is recommended for greater reliability.
