2.5×1m Roadside Promotional Banner | Councillor Banner and Corporate Street Banner (550g Matte/Gloss)

2.5×1m is a common "standard size" for roadside promotional banners. Most importantly, the design must be clear from a distance and withstand sun and rain, while avoiding glare that affects readability. For long-term outdoor use, we normally recommend a 550g matte canvas banner, as it is more durable and will not produce glare that obscures the text.

Finished size: 2.5 × 1m Material: 550g matte/gloss canvas banner Printing: Full colour, single-sided Standard: hemmed edges (for greater durability) Optional: eyelets at the four corners/all four edges
Choose in 30 Seconds (3 Most Common Uses)

1Long-term outdoor use: 550g matte + eyelets along all four edges

Non-reflective, weather-resistant and durable; eyelets along all four edges keep the banner taut, flatter and easier to secure.

2Short-term events/indoors: 550g gloss + eyelets at the four corners

The gloss finish makes colours more vibrant; it is better suited to indoor use with less sunlight, where glare is less of an issue.

3Clear from a distance: fewer, larger words + high-contrast colours

Roadside banners suffer most from "small text/too much information"; one headline + one phone number/QR code is most effective.

Matte vs Gloss (The Wrong Choice Directly Affects Readability)
Material Appearance/usage Best suited to...
550g matte canvas banner
Best for outdoors
Prevents sunlight glare from obscuring the text; more reliable and durable for long-term roadside display. Roadside promotions, councillor banners, long-term corporate street displays and outdoor photo backdrops.
550g gloss canvas banner
Better suited indoors
Produces more vibrant colours, but the surface is reflective; readability may be affected in strong sunlight. Indoor events, shorter-term use and locations without direct sunlight.

For long-term roadside display, we generally recommend matte because it is non-reflective and keeps the text clearer.

Finishing/Installation (The Biggest Factor in Durability)
✅ Standard: hemmed edges (default)
  • All four edges are folded back and pressed for a neater appearance and to prevent fraying.
  • Hemmed edges improve durability for long-term roadside display in wind and rain.
✅ Optional: eyelets at the four corners
  • Brass eyelets are fitted at the four corners for quick fastening with rope/cable ties.
  • Suitable for short-term events or locations with clearly defined fixing points.
✅ Optional: eyelets along all four edges
  • Eyelets are evenly spaced along all four edges, making the banner easier to keep flat and more wind-resistant.
  • Recommended for long-term roadside display or when a flatter banner is required.

Artwork Preparation and Submission (Follow These Specifications to Minimise Rework)
Finished size (1:1): 2500 × 1000mm Bleed: None required (if you want a white border, please add the outline yourself and specify it) Colour: CMYK Resolution: 200–350dpi Accepted file formats: JPG / PDF / AI / PSD
Small-text reminder: If the design contains small text, use vector typesetting in Illustrator where possible and avoid creating small text in Photoshop, as it may appear blurred when printed. Please convert text to outlines; TIF files are not accepted.
✅ Layout Tips for Roadside Readability
  • One headline is enough: the text should be large and the contrast should be high (so it can be seen from a distance)
  • Information hierarchy: headline > subheading > phone/QR code (avoid cramming in too much text)
  • If eyelets/hemming will be added, important content should not sit too close to the edge, leaving a safe margin
✅ How Do I Add a White Border/Outline?
  • Large-format artwork generally does not require bleed
  • If you want a white border, please draw the outline yourself and specify that the white border is an outline
  • For closer colour matching when reprinting old artwork, keep the previous sample/colour reference
Pre-press Notes (Essential for Outdoor Large-format Printing)
1
Colour variation is normal: A reasonable colour variation for large-format printing is approximately 15%–20%; output may vary at different times even with the same file and material.
2
Reprinting old artwork: A colour-density variation of approximately 10% on reprints is normal and is not grounds for a reprint or return.
3
Lamination is included: All large-format printing includes lamination; if it is not required, please specify this when ordering.
4
Possible joins: If the dimensions exceed the machine limit, the banner will be joined; visible marks at the join are normal.
5
Proofreading responsibility: We are not responsible for proofreading. Please check all information before approving the artwork; production and delivery will follow the approved version.
Installation and other large-format costs are generally charged separately. If you want a complete service (design + printing + installation), send the location and installation method via WhatsApp.
FAQ
Q: How should I choose between matte and gloss?
For long-term outdoor use/strong roadside sunlight, we recommend 550g matte canvas banner (non-reflective and durable); for indoor or short-term use, choose gloss canvas banner (more vibrant colours, but reflective).
Q: What is the best file format to submit?
We accept JPG / PDF / AI / PSD; the recommended resolution is 200–350dpi and the colour mode is CMYK. For small text, use vector typesetting in Illustrator and convert text to outlines; TIF is not accepted.
Q: Does large-format artwork require bleed?
Bleed is generally not required; if you want a white border, please draw the outline yourself and specify that the white border is an outline.
Q: How should I choose between eyelets at the four corners and along all four edges?
Eyelets at the four corners: simple, clear fixing points and quick installation; eyelets along all four edges: easier to keep the banner flat, with better wind resistance; recommended for long-term roadside display.
Q: Why can colours vary when reprinting the same file?
Large-format printing is affected by the material, ink and environment, so the same file may differ when printed at different times; a colour-density variation of approximately 10% on reprints is normal.
Would you like us to check readability from a distance?
Send us your design screenshot + installation location (roadside/fence/footbridge) via WhatsApp, and we will advise whether to enlarge the text, increase contrast or change the eyelet layout.
