UV Outdoor Backlit Film | For Lightboxes • Direct UV Printing • Long-lasting, Fade-resistant Colour

Want lightbox advertising that grabs attention the moment it lights up? UV outdoor backlit film is a translucent PVC material that diffuses light evenly. It is printed directly with UV ink for richer colours and greater durability. The usual method is reverse printing: the image looks cleaner from the front and the ink layer is better protected.

Light transmission: Translucent PVC Printing: Direct UV printing + UV ink Process: Reverse printing (artwork must be horizontally flipped) Surface: Smooth front (rougher reverse) Lead time: Estimated 2–3 working days
Quick Selection (Decide in 30 Seconds)

1Most Popular for Shops: Lightbox Posters (Frequently Changed)

Ideal for menus, new products and discount posters; even light transmission gives a natural brightness as soon as the light is switched on.

2More Durable: Long-term Display in Shopping Centres / Outdoor Locations

UV ink is more resistant to sunlight and environmental conditions; choose this option for longer displays.

3Best-looking Image: Reverse Printed with the Ink Layer Facing Inwards

The front looks cleaner, and routine cleaning is less likely to scratch the ink surface, keeping it looking good for longer.

Material & Results (Why This Option Is Especially Reliable)
Item The Difference You Will Notice Best Suited To...
Material: Translucent PVC Backlit Film
Even light transmission, made for lightboxes
When the backlight is switched on, the image comes to life; ideal for lightbox posters and backlit film advertising. Shop lightboxes, shopping-centre corridor lightboxes and exhibition lightbox frames.
Printing: Direct UV Printing + UV Ink
Richer colours and greater weather resistance
Colours are bright and rich, with greater UV resistance; they are less likely to fade during long-term display. Displays that need durability and fewer replacements.
Surface: Smooth Front
Rougher reverse
The front is easy to clean and looks neater; with reverse printing, the inward-facing ink layer is better protected. Lightbox locations with heavy footfall that are cleaned frequently.
Process: Reverse Printing (Recommended)
Artwork must be horizontally flipped
The image is viewed from the front through the film, so flip it horizontally before submitting the artwork to prevent the finished image appearing reversed. Lightbox posters with logos or plenty of text, where correct orientation is essential.

Tip: dullness and insufficient brightness are the biggest problems for lightbox advertising. If your design uses dark colours, increase the contrast and reduce fine dark patterns for a much better backlit result.

Pre-press Notes (We Recommend Reading These)
1
Colour variation in large-format printing is within a reasonable range: generally around 15%–20% (more noticeable than in conventional small-format printing).
2
Reprints of the same file may differ: a colour variation of around 10% is normal when the same file is printed again.
3
Please confirm the reverse-print orientation yourself: if you would like us to check it, first send a screenshot or photo of the installation position via WhatsApp.
4
Use vectors for small text / fine lines wherever possible: avoid raster images for small text to achieve clearer output.
5
Artwork Approval: we are not responsible for proofreading; once approved, the artwork will be printed as confirmed.

(If you have special requirements, such as more accurate colour, a small trial run or installation, let us know before ordering and we will arrange the most reliable option.)

FAQ
Q: What is reverse printing, and why must the artwork be flipped horizontally?
Reverse printing places the ink layer on the back of the film so the image is viewed through the film from the front. Because it is printed from the back, you must flip the artwork horizontally before submitting it to prevent the finished image appearing reversed.
Q: Is UV outdoor backlit film durable, and does it fade easily?
UV ink produces more stable colours and offers better light and weather resistance; it is commonly used for long-term lightbox displays in shopping centres, shops and exhibitions. Actual service life depends on sunlight and environmental conditions. For outdoor use, tell us the location and required period so we can recommend the most reliable option.
Q: Will my lightbox frame obscure the text, and should I leave a margin?
We recommend a 5–10mm safe margin on all four sides, depending on the structure of your lightbox frame. The simplest option is to send us a photo of the frame or old backlit film via WhatsApp so we can assess it.
Q: Can I achieve a more solid or brighter lightbox effect?
Yes. For some images, a white-ink base or selective white ink can improve saturation and opacity, depending on the design and lightbox brightness. Send us the artwork or a screenshot and we will advise based on the image.
Q: What is the approximate lead time?
The estimated lead time is generally around 2–3 working days, depending on quantity, artwork status and finishing. If it is urgent, send us the required delivery date via WhatsApp and we will check the most reliable arrangement.
