Before customers even taste the cake, its appearance has already made a strong impression; gold looks especially refined with cream, chocolate and strawberry cakes.
Compared with a highly reflective surface, matte feels more like premium packaging and is also less likely to "flare" in photographs.
The surface film makes everyday use more reassuring: it is easier to keep clean during handling, boxing and display.
Keep ample negative space and position the logo near the edge or bottom; the finished piece will look more like a "boutique" product than promotional material.
If you want "a memorable touch" without being too bold, apply a localised effect to the focal point of the graphic (a smaller area generally gives a more refined result).

Finish artwork (Spot Layer) recommendation: use a separate layer with 100% K (solid black) only, without transparency or gradients; lines ≥0.25pt and text ≥6pt.
