Specialty Paper Posters | More Refined than Gloss Art Paper • Feel the Difference the Moment You Pick One Up

Large-format posters do not have to follow a glossy advertising style. If you want more visual depth and a more premium feel, specialty paper posters use a sturdy 300gsm stock whose natural texture and tactile quality stand out. They are ideal for brand imagery, exhibition walls, product key visuals and photography.

Paper weight: 300gsm specialty paper Options: white card / linen texture / laid texture Printing: single-sided full colour Style: more timeless • more depth
Quick Order (decide in 30 seconds)

1Safest choice (corporate look): 300gsm Dutch white card

Clean, crisp and versatile; ideal for information-led key visuals, event posters and standard brand layouts.

2Textured choice: 300gsm linen-texture card / extra-white Athens textured card

The texture enhances visual depth; use more white space and slightly bolder headings for the best effect.

3Artistic choice (creative / exhibitions): 300gsm Conqueror laid paper (cream / extra white)

The laid paper texture is more pronounced, giving illustrations, photography and brand-story walls a warmer feel.

Why Choose Specialty Paper Posters (and Why They Feel More Premium)

A sturdy 300gsm base

Firmer in the hand and flatter on the wall; instantly distinguishable from standard thin posters.

Texture = natural depth

Rather than relying on a glossy sheen, the paper texture adds a tactile finish; the design looks more timeless and less like an advert.

Ideal for premium brands

Designed for brand imagery, exhibition displays and product photography posters; the paper itself elevates the presentation.

Choosing Specialty Paper (match it to your visual style)
Paper stock Feel / visual characteristics Best suited to...
300gsm Dutch white card
Clean • versatile
Its relatively smooth surface keeps text and images crisp; it offers the most predictable, reliable results. Event posters, standard brand layouts and information-heavy designs.
300gsm linen-texture card
Textured • more tactile
The crosshatch linen texture adds depth; avoid ultra-fine lines and make headings / key elements more prominent for the best result. Brand key visuals, in-store display walls and designs that call for a tactile feel.
300gsm extra-white Athens textured card
Fine texture • premium
A fine texture and whiter base make colours appear cleaner, ideal for a premium minimalist look. Product posters, boutique promotions and minimalist layouts.
300gsm Conqueror laid paper (cream)
Warm tone • inviting
The cream base and laid-paper texture create a gentler feel; warm-toned designs are recommended for a harmonious result. Exhibition pieces, brand-story walls and coffee / craft / lifestyle themes.
300gsm Conqueror laid paper (extra white)
Laid texture • cleaner look
Retains the laid-paper feel with a whiter base, combining texture with a fresh, clean look. Photography posters, illustrations and premium product key visuals.

Tip: specialty paper already has visual presence. For the most premium effect, use less text, generous white space and one focused key visual.

Printing Advice (take extra care with full-bleed colours)
✅ Paper texture can soften fine details
  • Textured paper can make ultra-fine lines / tiny text appear less sharp
  • Use bolder headings and limit small text for a more timeless design
✅ Lamination recommended for full-bleed dark colours
  • Full-bleed colours, especially dark shades, dry more slowly and have a higher risk of set-off
  • For reliable results, add a protective layer / lamination to improve scuff resistance and cleanliness
✅ A more premium display finish
  • Use a minimalist layout, generous white space and a focused key visual
  • For a flatter wall display, use a backing board / frame to enhance the presentation

Design / Artwork Submission Advice (correct artwork makes a better finished product)
✅ File Format
  • Recommended: PDF / AI (most reliable)
  • Accepted: PSD / JPG
  • Convert text to outlines / curves to prevent font substitution
✅ Resolution / Colour
  • Resolution: 200–350dpi
  • Colour mode: CMYK
  • Use high-resolution source images to prevent pixelation when enlarged
✅ Bleed / Safe Area
  • For full bleed, add 3mm bleed on each edge
  • Keep important text / logos at least 5mm
  • Avoid very fine small text on textured paper for clearer results
Note: our company is not responsible for proofreading content (telephone numbers, addresses, QR codes, etc.). Please check it carefully before approving the artwork; once approved, it will be printed as confirmed. (If lamination is included as standard, refer to the selected order option; if it is not required, please specify this when placing your order.)
FAQ
Q: What is the main difference between specialty paper posters and gloss art paper posters?
Gloss art paper has a vivid, glossy advertising look; specialty paper posters have a tactile, textured premium look. If you want a more timeless image and a more premium feel in the hand, specialty paper is the better choice.
Q: How can I avoid choosing the wrong paper?
Safest choice: Dutch white card; for texture: linen texture / Athens texture; for an artistic feel: Conqueror laid paper (cream / extra white). Show us your design and we can choose it for you.
Q: Can full-bleed dark colours cause problems?
Because of the way specialty paper absorbs ink, full-bleed dark colours are more likely to dry slowly or set off. For reliable results, add a protective layer (lamination) for a cleaner, more durable finish.
Q: What are the most common artwork submission issues?
The most common issues are low resolution, RGB not converted to CMYK and very fine small text. Use 200–350dpi, CMYK and outlined text for much more reliable results.
Q: Can you help if I cannot prepare the artwork?
Yes. Send us your logo / images / text direction and we can create a layout better suited to specialty paper, optimising white space, depth and font weights.
