Hot Foil Stamped Matte-Laminated Cards | Multiple Metallic Foil Colours • Special Holographic Gold / Silver • Instant Premium Appeal

Want a card that "doesn't need to say much, but commands attention the moment you present it"? The matte-laminated base is clean and low-glare; add metallic foil stamping (logo / name / tagline), and the reflective areas naturally stand out—the most direct route to a premium look. (Gang-run printing offers excellent value and is ideal for quickly replenishing 100–1000 cards)

Finished size: 90×54mm Stock: 300gsm double-sided coated card Surface: double-sided matte lamination (low-glare) Foil: bright gold / silver / red gold / blue gold / green gold (optional) Turnaround: approx. 3 working days
Quick Selection (decide in 30 seconds)

1Safest corporate choice: matte-laminated base + bright gold logo

Clean, low-glare finish with attractive bright-gold reflection; the most reliable choice for "first-time foil stamping".

2Stylish and professional: dark design + bright silver / blue gold

Silver feels calmer, while blue gold adds more brand personality; ideal for technology, finance and design studios.

3Eye-catching accent: red gold / green gold (festivals / events)

Use "a small amount of foil" as the focal point, paired with white space on a matte surface, for a more luxurious look.

Key Highlights (why does foil instantly look premium?)
✅ Reflective metallic foil = instant focus

Foil stamping involves "metallic foil transfer": the logo / name naturally catches the light, creating a more authentic metallic effect than gold ink.

✅ Clean matte-laminated base • makes the foil stand out

The low-glare matte surface keeps the design visually "restrained"; the foil stands out more, creating the look of a premium brand card.

✅ Excellent value (gang-run printing)

Gang-run printing is more affordable; if you do not require "zero colour variation", this is the best-value premium upgrade.

How to Choose a Foil Colour (the right choice instantly upgrades the finished card)
Foil Colour Visual Effect Best If You...
Bright Gold
Most Versatile
Strongest "metallic" reflection and presence; a reliable choice. You want a reliably premium look / this is your first foil stamping order.
Bright Silver
Calm and Professional
More restrained and modern; appears especially crisp on a dark background. Technology, finance or consultancy firm; you want a more stylish look.
Red Gold / Green Gold
Festive and Eye-Catching
Festive and striking; best used as "a small accent". Chinese New Year, events or brand pop-ups; you want to be instantly memorable.
Blue Gold
Brand Personality
More distinctive; especially striking for a logo. Blue is your primary brand colour / you want to "stand apart".
Holographic Gold / Holographic Silver (Special)
Show-Stopping Effect
Refracts light from multiple angles for the most "dramatic" visual effect; ideal as a focal point. You want to "impress at first sight": use it on just 1–2 key areas.

Tip: during design, use a similar colour value as a reference (a screen can only approximate the effect); the key is to "keep the foil area simple".

Foil Design Advice (avoid common pitfalls for a naturally polished result)
✅ Simpler foil areas look more premium
  • Focus on logo / name / one tagline
  • Avoid "full-bleed coverage" or highly complex patterns (which can reveal imperfections)
  • Avoid overlapping foil with important text
✅ Colour Variation Control (essential for gang-run printing)
  • Gang-run printing may show approx. 10% colour variation
  • Keep the total ink coverage for a single colour within 20–250%
  • Avoid sensitive colours and "four-colour black"
✅ A More "Premium" Composition
  • Use white space to create a more premium feel and make the foil stand out
  • For a more premium look: foil + thin border / small icon (but not too small)
  • If the card contains a lot of information: use foil only for the logo and standard printing for the content
Size & Bleed (follow these specifications for the most reliable artwork setup)
Bleed: 96 × 60mm Trim: 90 × 54mm Safe area: 84 × 48mm Recommended distance for important content from the edge: ≥3mm
Recommended artwork setup: CMYK, images at 300dpi, text outlined; if a black foil artwork layer is included, AI vector only (more reliable).
Need a template: see "Foil Artwork Specifications" below.
Black Foil Artwork Specifications (get these right to avoid almost all issues)
1
AI vector only for black artwork: Clearly mark every area to be finished; do not use bitmap black artwork.
2
K100 setting: Set every foil area to K100% pure black (avoid greyscale).
3
Minimum type / line: Foil text ≥8pt; lines ≥0.6pt (0.2mm); spacing between two foil areas ≥0.7mm.
4
Keep away from the trim line: Do not place foil too close to the trim line / die-cut area, as cutting pressure may cause peeling.
5
Normal finishing tolerances: Foil / finishing position may vary by approx. 2–3mm; for a more reliable result, add a 1–2mm stroke to the black artwork. To prevent foil and print misregistration, do not include the foil elements in the same position in the print artwork (handle them separately in the black artwork).
Send us your AI / PDF and we will check it:
We will check the foil areas, minimum type and line sizes, distance from the edge and the risk of "misregistration", then help you adjust everything for the most reliable result.
FAQ
Q: What is the difference between foil stamping and gold ink?
Gold ink is a "printed ink layer"; foil stamping involves "metallic foil transfer", giving stronger reflection and a more authentic metallic effect. For an instantly premium result, foil stamping the logo is usually the most effective approach.
Q: How should I prepare the black foil artwork? Can I use PNG?
AI vector black artwork is recommended, with foil areas set to K100 pure black; avoid bitmaps / greyscale. Type ≥8pt and lines ≥0.6pt (0.2mm) produce a more reliable result.
Q: Can the foil and printing be misregistered?
Finishing has a normal tolerance (approx. 2–3mm). To avoid misregistration, do not include the foil content in the same position in the print artwork; alternatively, add a 1–2mm stroke to the black artwork to increase tolerance.
Q: Does gang-run printing have colour variation?
Approx. 10% colour variation may occur and is considered normal; if colour accuracy is critical, an individual print run / spot-colour solution is more reliable.
