Ordering Process

Artwork Preparation Guidelines

Card Artwork Size Setup:

  1. The standard card artwork size is 96x60mm, including a 3mm bleed on each side. The finished size after trimming is 90x54mm. Before exporting, please delete any objects outside the bleed area. There is no need to draw trim marks or registration marks, and the card border must be set to no fill, as shown below:
  2. If no finished artwork frame is set, the work area/page frame will be treated as the finished size by default. To ensure accuracy, please set the finished artwork frame yourself. This will ensure that the finished product is the correct size.
  3. Keep important text, borders around the design or white margins at least 5mm inside the trim line on every side as a safe margin. Otherwise, the finished product may be skewed or have uneven margins after trimming.
  4. The card artwork size must be the finished size plus 3mm on every side. For example, if the artwork size is 156x106mm, the finished size is 150x100mm and it will be priced as four card positions. If the artwork size is 86x56mm, the finished size is 80x50mm and it will be priced as one card position.

Card Artwork Preparation Guidelines:

Standard Card Artwork

  1. If you use Adobe Illustrator (AI) to create the card artwork, set the artboard to the finished card size and add a 3mm bleed in Document Setup, then centre the content on the artboard. When the artwork is complete, select "Create Outlines", save the file as an AI or PDF file, and upload it. Before uploading, please read the important notes in File Upload Instructions.
  2. When preparing card artwork, remember to place the front of the card on the left and the back on the right.
  3. When exporting artwork from AI, save each file separately. Whether it is an AI, PSD or PDF file, there must be one file for each person's name.
  4. When exporting artwork from Photoshop, name the front and back files for each person's card separately and compress both files into the same folder. Each card artwork file will therefore consist of two files.
  5. When uploading files, remember to check each option and quantity, then upload them in order to avoid errors and confusion.
  6. Before confirming your order, check again that the options and quantities for the uploaded files are correct.

Preparing UV and Hot Foil Card Artwork

  1. If finishing is required, black separation artwork must be created to indicate the areas to be finished. Only vector AI files are accepted for the black separation artwork.
  2. As mentioned above, place the front of the card on the left and the back on the right. Place the black separation artwork for spot UV, hot foil stamping and other finishes next to the side to be finished, with the front on the left and the back on the right, as shown:

  3. Areas for spot UV and hot foil stamping must be set to K100% in the finishing separation artwork.
  4. Avoid using graphics or text that are too small, too fine or overly complex, as the finished result may be unsatisfactory.
  5. Please note that text for finishing must be at least 8pt, lines must be at least 0.6pt (0.2mm), and the gap between two hot foil areas must be at least 0.7mm.
  6. Do not place UV or hot foil areas too close to the trim line or die-cut area, as pressure from the cutting blade may cause the UV or foil to peel off.
  7. Please note that UV finishing has a normal positional tolerance of 2~3mm. If you want to minimise misalignment, add a 1~2mm stroke when preparing the black separation artwork.
  8. Please note that hot foil stamping has a tolerance of 0.5~1mm. To avoid misalignment between the foil and the text or images on the printed side, areas to be hot foiled must not appear in the print artwork, as shown:
