Paper Collection 2025

You have probably heard by now: our very first release of the year is Paper Collection 2025. Go and feel it for yourself. One of our goals is to help the market understand the print industry better, so people can really grasp what a printed product is and how it feels. The human brain is wired in a curious way: we take in a video more easily than an image, an image more easily than text, and, of course, we only truly know how something feels once we can hold it, look at it and play with it. That is why getting a physical sample into your hands matters so much to anyone who cares not only about quality, but about the feeling a printed piece leaves behind.

The Design of It

We had a lot of conversations, with our customers and with our own colleagues, to pin down the one thing we most wanted to give people. As an online printing company, we have always dreamed of a shop: the kind with a door, decorations, and us standing inside it. So we decided to build a 3D scene showing exactly what it would look like if PrintingBanana.com opened a dedicated shop for our customers.

Picking a 3D Software

Truth be told, I am the one who usually faces our customers, and the one who does not know much about design. But these days, when even YouTube can produce an Olympic gold medallist, why not me? I could not wait for the learning journey to begin. We work so closely with Adobe's software that I deliberately did not want to start with one of its products. 3ds Max? Cinema 4D? SketchUp? No. I just wanted my lessons to start happily and stay that way. After searching around our digital world, I found that Spline was the one for us, and I fell in love the moment I realised you can turn your work into a playable game instantly.

The Concept

We wanted the printing experience to feel joyful. As you may notice, we packed the scene with playful touches: there are carnival rides, playgrounds, and balls (inspired by the gacha machine) floating above the second floor of the shop. We also wanted to bring in some local flavour, so we added an iconic red taxi and the truck we use for our deliveries. TML Tower

Our Material Selection

We wanted to put the most premium paper into our customers' hands to look at and feel, but the real-world need is not always for premium stock; often it comes down to a paper's features. So we have put together two sets: a range of papers used in everyday work, and a range of specialty papers, both smooth and patterned stocks.

We also printed vivid, bold designs on them, so you can see exactly how artwork behaves on each one. And, not least, every sheet carries its name, gsm and cutting line, ready for you to share with friends, colleagues and customers.

Get the Most Out of It

Paper Collection 2025 has been out for a few weeks now, and we are grateful that so many customers have asked for it; our stock is running down to zero far faster than we expected. Thank you for the support. We have also built a one-page website to introduce the papers, so please feel free to try it out (and let us know if you spot any bugs!).
